Across Vermont, property assessments are increasing dramatically - often based on extraordinary COVID-era market conditions.

Many homeowners are receiving reassessments that have doubled, or more. For many Vermonters:

  • Wages did not double.
  • Retirement income did not double.
  • Farm income did not double.
  • Small-business revenue did not double.

Yet assessments often did. VT4VT is collecting real data from across the state to understand the impact and the resulting tax burden.
